Dominique C Huskey aka - M.F Huskey was born in Kansas City, Missouri December 31, 1990. His Childhood was any thing but perfect, raised by a single mother of 3, he and his 2 sisters witnessed their mother struggle for many years. Being the only boy in his household growing up, essentially pushed Huskey to the streets. He spent most of his free time hanging out in a ten block radius where he met guys known today as his brothers. He and his brothers could spend days at a time up and down this ten block radius, either rapping, fighting with each other or playing basketball. Huskey got so used to not coming home that his mother would often feel as if she had lost him to the streets.The reality was that him feeling as though he needed brothers, he often just preferred to be out in the streets hanging with the guys. Huskey’s father was never really around except maybe a few times a year. He always seemed to be too busy, either in the studio or in jail. The few times that Huskey actually got a chance to hang out with his father, they would go to a local studio (Woodgrain Studios) where he would sit for hours with his father and his father’s friends just listening to them record and watching the engineer produce from behind the glass. Huskey fell in love with music from that point forward. He went from begging his father to take him along to the studio, to writing his own music and recording on a cassette tape in a karaoke machine. Writing music became his life. He would isolate himself completely just to listen to the hottest new beats and write new material to show off to his friends. His friends would smoke weed and listen to Huskey as if he was their personal radio. Eventually this hobby became the primary means of communication for Huskey, he wasn’t a social butterfly but felt that he could essentially connect with anyone through his lyrics. He gained a lot of popularity through his music in his hometown over the course of 3 ½ years prior to enlisting in the US Navy. After being honorably discharged in 2013 he decided to go to school with his talents hoping to gain the knowledge to push his abilities to the next level and gain industry level know-how. He is currently attending Fullsail University for a Recording Arts Bachelors of Science degree only a few months from graduation. His plans haven’t changed, but his music has reached new heights in terms of intellectual content still producing music that penetrates the mind stimulates the soul. For M.F, this is only the beginning.
